The Renewed Finnish Museum of Games

The Finnish Museum of Games, now in its tenth year, will undergo a renovation in 2026. Due to the renovation, the museum will close on August 3 and reopen on October 10.

The exhibition will expand onto the current wooden floor, adding about 100 square meters of space. The renovated museum will feature 110 games, most of which visitors will be able to play. Two of the six themed rooms will be redesigned, and a gas station and a cottage will be added. With the renovation, the public—both enthusiasts who know games well and those who play less frequently—will gain an even more diverse picture of Finnish games and their significance to society.

A nostalgic atmosphere and gaming remain the central themes of the popular museum, even as updated game stations and a new color scheme give the exhibition a fresh look. However, not everything is being replaced; the spirit of the current exhibition will also be reflected in the revamped display.
